Three ways to save
Škrinjar saves passwords in three ways: manual entry, auto-save (detects when you log in), and import from other managers. All records are encrypted with AES-256-GCM.
Manual entry
- Open Škrinjar popup (click the icon or Ctrl+Shift+L).
- Click "+" (Add new).
- Select the record type:
Website, username, password, TOTP, notes.
Secure note
Free-form encrypted text — for recovery codes, API keys, etc.
Credit card
Card number, expiry, CVV, cardholder name.
Identity
Name, address, phone, email — for form filling.
Custom record
Define your own fields — for Wi-Fi passwords, server credentials, or anything else.
Auto-save
When you log in to a website that isn't in your vault, Škrinjar detects the login and offers to save the credentials:
- A popup appears: "Save this login?"
- Check the site name and username.
- Click "Save".
If you update a password on an existing site, Škrinjar asks: "Update this password?"
Editing and deleting
Editing
Open the record → click "Edit". Change any field and click "Save". Changes are encrypted and saved immediately.
Copying
Click the copy icon next to a field. The clipboard is automatically cleared after 30 seconds.
Deleting
Open the record → click "Delete". Škrinjar asks for confirmation before deleting.
Deletion is permanent. Deleted records cannot be recovered as Škrinjar has no recycle bin or cloud sync (in the Free version). Before deleting, consider whether you need a backup.
Password visibility
Passwords are hidden by default (●●●●). Click the eye icon to reveal. The password auto-hides after 10 seconds for security.
