Password & Passphrase Generator

Three modes: passwords, phrases and usernames.

Three generation modes

Škrinjar has a built-in generator with three modes: passwords, passphrase phrases and usernames. Also available at geslar.app.

Password generator
  1. Open Škrinjar popup → click "Generate" (or use the generator on geslar.app).
  2. Set the length (recommended: 20+ characters).
  3. Choose character types: lowercase, uppercase, numbers, symbols.
  4. Optionally enable "Avoid similar characters" (l, I, 1, O, 0) — useful when you need to type it manually.
  5. Click "Generate".
  6. The password is automatically checked against Have I Been Pwned (k-Anonymity — safe, only the first 5 characters of the hash are sent).
Passphrase generator
  1. Select the "Phrases" tab.
  2. Choose language (Croatian or English).
  3. Choose dictionary (standard, Kajkavian, Čakavian, metaphors, or EFF Diceware for English).
  4. Set number of words (recommended: 4-6).
  5. Choose separator (hyphen, dot, space, none).
  6. Optionally add a number and/or capital letter for extra entropy.
4 random Croatian words = ~52 bits of entropy. That's enough for hundreds of years of brute-force resistance. Learn more about passphrases →
Username generator

For sites where you want privacy, Škrinjar can generate random usernames:

Random words
Combinations like "azure_falcon_42" — memorable but not personally identifiable.
Random string
Alphanumeric strings like "k7xp2m9q" — maximum anonymity.
Quick access
In the popup
Click the dice icon next to any password field while editing a record.
On the web
Open geslar.app — the generator works without installation, directly in the browser.
During registration
When Škrinjar detects a registration form, it offers to generate and fill a strong password automatically.
