Geslar Škrinjar is a password manager that runs entirely in your browser. All data stays on your device, encrypted with AES-256-GCM. No cloud, no account, no tracking.
Chrome / Brave / Edge / Opera
- Open the Chrome Web Store and search for "Geslar", or click the direct link from geslar.app/skrinjar.
- Click "Add to Chrome".
- Confirm the permission dialog — Škrinjar requests only activeTab (access only when you click) and storage (local encrypted data).
- Pin the extension: click the puzzle icon → pin Geslar Škrinjar.
Firefox
- Open Firefox Add-ons (addons.mozilla.org) and search for "Geslar", or click the direct link from geslar.app/skrinjar.
- Click "Add to Firefox".
- Confirm the permissions.
- The Škrinjar icon will appear in the toolbar. Right-click → "Pin to Toolbar" if not visible.
Permissions explained
activeTab
Škrinjar can access the current tab only when you click its icon or use a shortcut. It cannot read your browsing history or other tabs.
storage
Used to store the encrypted vault locally. Data never leaves your device.
clipboardWrite
Allows copying passwords to the clipboard. The clipboard is automatically cleared after 30 seconds.
Škrinjar uses Manifest V3 — the latest Chrome extension standard with stricter security. No background access, no persistent permissions.
Minimum requirements
Chrome / Chromium
Version 110 or later (Manifest V3 support).
Firefox
Version 109 or later (MV3 support).
Edge / Opera / Brave
Any version from 2023 onwards. Same Chromium base as Chrome.
